FAQ's

  • Where are you located?
    Private lessons are held at the National Volleyball Center, located at 2601 Viola Rd NE, Rochester, MN 55906. Walk down the long sidewalk and enter through the main doors and you will enter the main atrium.
  • When will private lessons start again?
    Private lessons have concluded for the summer months (May through August) and will pick back up again in May 2025. There might be a week or two after high school volleyball wraps up where lessons will be offered again in preparation for JO season.
  • What day will private lessons officially start this summer?
    The first day of private lessons is Monday, May 20th, 2024.
  • What days of the week are private lessons offered?
    Sundays from 4-9 pm and Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 5-9 pm.
  • Will morning lessons be available?
    Yes, this summer we will have a few dates that are morning time slots. See below. Tuesday, June 4th Wednesday, June 5th Thursday, June 6th Monday, June 24th Tuesday, June 25th Wednesday, June 26th Monday, July 22nd Tuesday, July 23rd Wednesday, July 24th
  • What are the private lesson rates?
    2024 Private Lesson Rates: - Private Lesson for 1 player | Individual player pays $60 - Private Lesson for 2 players | Each player pays $30 - Private Lesson for 3 or more players | Each player pays $25
  • What if I need to cancel my lesson?
    If you need to cancel your lesson, our policy is you need to cancel and give notice at least 48 hours in advance. If this is not done, you will be charged the full amount for the missed lesson. Please email the coach you signed up for lesson with and mention what day and time you would like to cancel. If you have any questions, please email: privatelessons@rochesteryouthvolleyball.org
  • Do I need to fill out a liability waiver for a private lesson?
    Yes, every year each athlete must fill out a Liability Waiver. This form only needs to be filled out one time and should be brought to the first lesson. Any lessons following are covered.
  • What if the coach I would like to book is not available?
    Due to all of our coaches having different schedules, the coach you desire might not be available. You can either 1. Select another coach that accommodates your schedule or 2. if all days are booked or you would like a coach in particular, please contactprivatelessons@rochesteryouthvolleyball.org directly so they can connect with the coach for additional days/times.
  • What form of payment do you take?
    The coaches are allowed to receive payment by cash, check, or venmo. Make sure full amount is received before the lesson begins. Cash - please bring the full amount Check - make checks out to the coach Venmo - ask the coach if they have an account and what their username is
  • Can I sit in on a lesson and watch?
    Yes, parents are welcome to stay and watch. We ask they observe quietly on the back end of the court.
  • What should I bring to my lesson?
    If this is your first lesson you should bring your signed waiver. Once you have turned it in, you are set for all future lessons. Make sure to bring a water bottle, kneepads, court shoes, and payment.
  • How early should I arrive for my lesson?
    To keep the lessons on time, it is good to arrive 10 minutes beforehand. That way you can put your gear on, fill your water bottle, use the restroom before your lesson time starts.
  • What if I want more lessons?
    If you want more lessons but the coaches schedule is full, please email the coach you want to work with directly for their availability. Emails can be found on the "team" tab. Or if you do not have a preference but would like a lesson, please email privatelessons@rochesteryouthvolleyball.org and you will be notified when the next available coach has an opening.
  • What happens if I forgot my signed liability waiver?
    If you forgot your signed waiver, there will be printed copies in the main office to fill out and sign. Once filled out, hand to your coach before the lesson starts.
  • Can I sign up with a group?
    Yes, you can sign up as a group. If you do, have one person sign up for the day/time you'd like and list who is coming with you so the coach knows ahead of time.
